The future of agile Argentine winger Angel Di Maria remains uncertain. Di Maria is currently without a club after deciding to leave Juventus and not renew his contract, which expires on June 30, 2023.

Di Maria only spent one season with Juventus after leaving Paris Saint-Germain. The former Manchester United player has no intention of retiring yet but is considering ending his career in Europe.

Initially, Di Maria was heavily rumored to choose to continue his career in his homeland, Argentina. However, the situation started to change after his close friend Lionel Messi decided to move to the United States to strengthen Inter Miami.

Calciomercato reported in mid-June 2023 that Di Maria is now considering joining the Major League Soccer (MLS) with Inter Miami. Di Maria wants to play alongside Messi at the club level once again.

Di Maria and Messi only played together for one season at the club level during their time at PSG. Di Maria wants to replicate the success he had with Messi in the Argentine national team at the club level.

In the Argentine national team, Di Maria and Lionel Messi have been fighting together since a young age. Messi and Di Maria successfully won the gold medal in the 2008 Olympics, the 2021 Copa America, and the 2022 World Cup for the Argentine national team.

Di Maria's Strong Performance

Despite being 35 years old, Di Maria is still able to perform at the highest level. Last season, Di Maria made 26 appearances for Juventus and scored four goals in Serie A.

Di Maria also played a key role for Argentina in the 2022 World Cup. The former Manchester United player contributed one goal in the final match of the 2022 World Cup when Argentina defeated France in Qatar.

Di Maria's Signal to Follow Messi to America

The signal that Di Maria will play alongside Messi again at a club became apparent when they spent their vacation together after being allowed to skip Argentina's match against Indonesia in the FIFA Matchday. Messi, Di Maria, and Nicolas Otamendi returned home earlier after Argentina played in China.

Inter Miami would be delighted to secure Di Maria's services as well. Di Maria's presence would make Messi happier by having a friend by his side.
