The match between the Indonesian and Argentine national teams on FIFA Matchday at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on Monday, June 19, 2023, has come to an end, with Team Tango emerging as the winners with a score of 2-0.

The game was intense, with all 11 players from each team giving their best. Several individual battles were created, one of which involved Argentine wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho.

He entered the Indonesia vs Argentina match in the 60th minute, replacing Nicolas Gonzalez to operate on the left side of Team Tango's attack.

For more than half an hour, he engaged in a duel against Indonesian right-back and captain Asnawi Mangkualam.

Their battle was captivating. Asnawi showcased his abilities and managed to contain Garnacho.

The Manchester United player did have one opportunity where he broke free and took a shot, but fortunately, goalkeeper Ernando Ari was able to save it.

However, Asnawi Mangkualam's overall skill frustrated Garnacho. This was especially evident when Asnawi made a clean tackle to stop him in injury time. The 18-year-old youth got emotional and retaliated, but his tackle was late, resulting in Malaysian referee Muhammad Usaid bin Jamal blowing the whistle for a foul.

This post received positive reactions from netizens. The majority even urged the Red Devils to recruit the former PSM Makassar player for Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, many people mentioned Asnawi's presence as the reason behind Lionel Messi's absence. As known, Messi did not come to Indonesia despite playing in Argentina's first FIFA Matchday against Australia in China earlier this month. Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni gave him and Angel Di Maria and Nicolas Otamendi some time off.

Asnawi's toughness was one of the reasons why Indonesia lost only 0-2 to Argentina. Tango Team coach Lionel Scaloni praised the Garuda squad. According to Scaloni, Shin Tae-yong's men played well despite the defeat.

"The match was as difficult as we anticipated. We will continue to do our best in every game. The Indonesian team is no different from the others," said Scaloni.

"Indonesia played well in this match. Keep up the good performance, Indonesian national team," Scaloni added.

Overall, Scaloni was satisfied with his team's performance, even though they only won by two goals against Indonesia and Australia during Argentina's tour in Asia.
