Manchester United (MU) is reportedly no longer interested in retaining Harry Maguire's services at Old Trafford next season. The English international player has often made costly mistakes, becoming a liability for the Red Devils.

Reports suggest that Maguire is on MU's summer transfer list. The club has already identified a potential replacement by pursuing Napoli star Kim Min-jae, who has been impressive with his performances.

However, Maguire doesn't need to be too disheartened if he is indeed shown the door by MU. Several Premier League teams have expressed interest in rescuing Maguire from Old Trafford.

According to The Sun, Newcastle United is one of the clubs interested in acquiring the services of the English international next season.

Aston Villa has also been monitoring Maguire's progress at the club. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur has recently been linked with the 30-year-old player, although The Lilywhites have not made any significant moves towards MU yet.

The English center-back is expected to leave Old Trafford if the right offer is presented. However, it should be noted that Manchester United has set limitations for clubs that wish to acquire the player.

The Sun reveals that Manchester United is unwilling to let Newcastle loan Maguire. This is because it would provide assistance to their rivals without bringing any financial benefits to the club.

A different scenario could occur if Aston Villa presents a loan agreement for Maguire. Reports suggest that The Villa has a greater chance of being allowed to temporarily utilize the player.

Harry Maguire's Performance with Manchester United

It is no wonder that Manchester United (MU) is not keen on keeping Harry Maguire for an extended period. Apart from frequently making mistakes, the English international player hasn't been utilized much under the guidance of coach Erik ten Hag.

Maguire's position in the pecking order of the Red Devils' defense has been overshadowed. The player has been overshadowed by Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, and Luke Shaw, who have been given more opportunities.

According to Transfermarkt, Maguire has only made 31 appearances for MU in all competitions this season. This includes 16 matches in the Premier League, 7 in the Europa League, 4 in the FA Cup, and the remaining 4 in the Carabao Cup.

This situation has led Manchester United to consider cashing in on Maguire in the transfer market. The club has already started pursuing new defenders to strengthen their backline for the next season, with Napoli's Kim Min-jae being the primary candidate.

Harry Maguire Still Wants to Stay at MU

Despite his situation at Old Trafford, Daily Mail reveals that Harry Maguire is still reluctant to leave Manchester United.

The 30-year-old footballer is still more interested in staying at the club, even though he is no longer the first-choice option for the Red Devils.

However, it appears that Erik ten Hag is determined to sell the player in the transfer market. This step is necessary to fund the transfer of Kim Min-jae from Napoli to Manchester United.
