Prepare for an electrifying surprise as NetherRealm Studios has unveiled a star-studded lineup of characters set to rock the Mortal Kombat 1 DLC Kombat Pack. Following its tradition of bringing in external characters, the game introduces fan favorites from various universes.

As reported by Polygon on a marvelous Monday (July 24, 2023), the character DLC for Mortal Kombat 1 was revealed in an action-packed video showcased during the San Diego Comic-Con event.

The video showcased several popular characters from outside the Mortal Kombat realm, including Homelander from "The Boys" series, Peacemaker from DC Universe's own series, and the formidable Omni-Man from the "Invincible" comic.

Alongside these incredible additions, the DLC pack will also feature Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda. But that's not all; fans can also expect to see Johnny Cage sporting a cool new skin, a nod to the legendary Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Notably, Homelander's look in the DLC is inspired by Antony Starr's portrayal of the character in "The Boys" TV series. Meanwhile, Peacemaker's appearance is based on John Cena's iconic role from the Peacemaker series.

Mortal Kombat has a rich history of incorporating characters from comics, movies, and antihero universes into the game. Mortal Kombat 11, for instance, featured John Rambo, RoboCop, Terminator T-800, Spawn, and even the Joker as playable characters.

Excitement is building as Mortal Kombat 1 is set to be released on September 19, 2023, across various platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PC Windows, and Xbox Series X.

The roster includes beloved original MK characters like Liu Kang, Kitana, Mileena, Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and many more.

Wondering about the release date? Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch on PC Windows (via Steam and Epic), PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series S|X on September 19, 2023.

Pre-ordering gamers will enjoy access to the beta version in August. The standard version of Mortal Kombat 1 is priced at USD 69.99, while the premium version goes for USD 109.99, and the Kollector's Edition is available for USD 249.99.

The Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector's Edition is exclusively available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The all-new Kameo Fighters will add an exciting twist to the game. These unique partner characters assist players during battles, bringing diverse gameplay possibilities. Kameo Fighters are handpicked from a separate roster of fighters.

Story Mode, a staple in Mortal Kombat, promises to deliver cinematic narratives with unexpected changes to classic rivalries and original backgrounds for various legendary fighters.

Good news for offline players – internet connection isn't mandatory for Mortal Kombat 1. However, certain modes and features will require an internet connection.

PlayStation Plus, Xbox Live Gold, or Nintendo Switch Online membership won't be necessary to enjoy Mortal Kombat 1 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch.
