MV Agusta has unveiled a special edition motorcycle dedicated to honoring history, racers, and the iconic Cathedral of Speed, better known as Assen. This tribute comes in the form of the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR Assen, with only 300 units produced worldwide.

The Brutale 1000 RR Assen is crafted in Italy to commemorate MV Agusta's 35 victories at the Circuit of Assen, which was established in 1955. MV Agusta remains one of Italy's most successful manufacturers in racing history and ranks third overall in terms of success on Dutch tracks.

Legendary racers like John Surtees, Mike Hailwood, and, of course, Giacomo Agostini, all achieved unbeatable feats with MV Agusta motorcycles.

Although nearly half a century has passed since their last victory in 1976, the allure of the Dutch track and MV Agusta's legacy endures. The Brutale 1000 RR Assen is meticulously crafted to pay homage to those glorious racing days.

With only 300 handmade motorcycles, it creates a limited and exclusive edition. MV Agusta claims that the Brutale 1000 RR Assen is a work of art, offering a blend of style, performance, and exclusivity to riders.

Several component enhancements distinguish it as the Assen limited edition. These include special emblems, plaques, carbon fiber panels, aluminum side plates, carbon fiber heat shields for the exhaust manifold, Alcantara blue seat covering, special finishes, and various other stylistic and functional elements around the tank area.

The Assen model showcases a distinctive color scheme that combines blue (Blu Nordico), silver (Argento Ago), and gold, creating an elegant and sporty appearance. This is complemented by several detailed parts and high-quality technical components.

The frame features aluminum side plates, and the single-sided swingarm is silver, contrasting with the dark color of the tubular steel trellis. The seat is wrapped in blue Alcantara, further enhancing the uniqueness of this motorcycle. It also features a two-tone blue and silver tank with polished finishes.

As part of the special edition package, a Special Parts Kit is provided, capable of enhancing power and exclusivity while reducing weight.

It includes an elegant titanium Arrow exhaust pipe with a dedicated control unit, black CNC machined engine levers, carbon fiber passenger seat cover, and a unique two-tone gold and black aluminum fuel cap. The package is completed with a motorcycle cover and a certificate of authenticity.

Engine and Chassis Specifications

The technical foundation of the Brutale 1000 RR Assen is based on the 2023 version of the Brutale 1000 RR. It features several technical updates, including an electronic gearbox for smoother and faster gear shifts thanks to improved hardware and software.

Powered by a high-performance 998 cc inline-four-cylinder engine that meets Euro 5 standards, it produces 208 hp at 11,000 rpm and 116.5 Nm at 11,000 rpm. Its dry weight is just 183 kg.

This results in a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1, calculated from horsepower per kilogram (measured with its dry weight).

For its chassis, the Brutale 1000 RR Assen is equipped with Öhlins Nix EC 43 mm inverted hydraulic suspension with 120 mm of travel at the front and Öhlins EC TTX at the rear with 120 mm of travel.

Both are electronically controlled and feature adjustments for compression and rebound damping. While the front suspension has manual preload adjustment, the rear is equipped with electronically adjustable spring preload.

Braking power is ensured by a set of twin floating discs at the front, each measuring 320 mm, while a single 220 mm steel disc is placed at the rear.

The front discs are clamped by a set of Brembo Stylema four-piston calipers with a Brembo radial master cylinder on the lever. The rear also features Brembo components, with a PS13 master cylinder and a two-piston caliper handling rear braking duties.

The luxury doesn't stop at the chassis; both wheels are made of Rotobox carbon fiber material and beautifully woven with blue carbon fiber. They come in sizes of 3.5 x 17 inches at the front and 6 x 17 inches at the rear.

These ultra-light carbon fiber wheels are wrapped in a set of tires sized 120/70 R17 at the front and 200/55 R17 at the rear. Although MV has not specified the brand in the specifications, they appear to be Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SPs based on the visuals.
